The Viognier grape originally comes from the Rhone Valley in France. It is not widely grown in Australia, but after much research was chosen by us because we believe the Blackwood Valley has the ideal climate and growing conditions for this variety. It is a highly individual grape and is one of the only white grapes that can be blended with red varieties. The nose and palate of this wine has the typical intense stone fruit characteristics found in Viognier. Nectarines, peaches and apricots predominate here and makes this wine enticingly luscious and fruity. This multi award winning wine is made using the traditional bétonnage method where the juice is continuously stirred on the lees before being bottled, giving the wine more intense and rich flavours. This method produces a complex and well structured wine which has a crisp dry finish.
